Bokashi Discussions

Hello all

Being my last article on Bokashi for worm food has received numerous comments from those making Bokashi for both worm food and gardening and it goes hand in hand as it is a type of fermentation composting, I have decided to open a new forum for further discussions here.

Actually Bokashi is something I am trying for the first time however the results of the breaking down of materials are looking good thus far.

For anyone wondering what Bokashi is it is a no foul odor anaerobic process which is used in composting favoring beneficial anaerobic microbes. It is a fermentation process similar to the process used when making wine.

Anyone with helpful information or questions feel free to post here.

Thanks

I wrote the third article on Bokashi however as I mention in the article I should have titled the articles something else do to my findings.

You can read the article here.

Just bag up some food scraps in a sealed bag with no air. Leave it sit for several weeks then feed the worms. I just freeze everything then allow it to thaw out for a few days and the worms get straight into it.
