I am surprised that you think there is so few people doing vermacomposting in your part of the world. You might be surprised lol. What type of worms do you plan to start with? Red Wrigglers and Europeans would be ok over there. In the U.S. a lot of people are keeping Africans but you would need heated beds over in the UK.
Where I live the temps are suitable all year round without the need for heaters.
I expect there are, but I've seen nothing of it so far, i must get out more. Here in UK the climate is cooler so red wiggler would be my choice I have permission to dig through a compost heap at a stable so I hope to get a few freebies.
